New patients
Your first appointment
Every new patient starts with the New Patient Assessment, in the office or by video. It is a long first visit with Dr. Berkel, and it covers four things.
- Understand your health story. Your history and the medicines you take.
- Identify risk factors. What to watch for, given your age and history.
- Review current concerns. What is bothering you now.
- Create a personal plan. What to deal with first, and the next steps.
- Price
- $425
- Paid when you book, office or video
- Length
- Booked as 45 minutes; with everything included it usually runs an hour.
- Where
- The Paramus office, or by video in New Jersey or California
- Separate
- Lab work, prescriptions, forms and follow-up visits are separate.
- Insurance
- A billing sheet at the end of the visit, to submit for reimbursement
- If you cancel
- The full amount becomes a credit toward a future visit, good for one year. Visits are not refunded.
- After that
- After that, Dr. Berkel sees every patient at least once a year.
